I still cannot believe this geological phenomenon is less than an hour from Los Angeles. It blew our minds so much on our first visit that we made a second trip later that same week so we could bring the rest of the family.  My little ones have renamed place as ‘Pride Rock’ and insist on reenacting parts of Lion King as they climb all over the rocks.

This place is packed with history and beauty at every corner. There’s a visitor center on site that give you an overview of all of the natural phenomenons you will see including all the movies that were filmed at this location.

Be mindful- although these rocks are fun tons fun to climb keep little ones close. There are not railings or safety harnesses. There are tons of low rocks and caves perfect for little ones around this area too. Come early to beat the heat and the crowds Park at the rocks themselves if you have little ones The Visitor Center is closed on Mondays, but you can still hike around the rocks. There are porta-potties at the parking lot closest to the rocks.
