Solstice Canyon is a wonderfully wide trail that is perfect for strollers and little walkers. This 2.5 mile hike will take you over a bridge, under several beautiful sycamore trees, and along a seasonal creek.
When you reach the end of the trail, you will find yourself at a house that was unfortunately destroyed in a fire in 2007. The kids will enjoy exploring the ruins and walking up the stairs to spot a little waterfall that runs behind the house.
When you arrive at the park, continue past the first parking area and drive slowly to the second parking lot. There are sometimes spots closer to the trailhead at the second lot. At the trailhead, there are vault toilets and a drinking fountain. These are the only restrooms on the trail, so be sure to take advantage of them at the beginning of the hike. There is another water fountain at the house ruins.
Several benches and tables are placed along the trail perfect for snack breaks and rest stops. There is one part of the the trail (about one mile in) that is fairly steep, but even this tired mama was able to push a toddler in the BOB Stroller. If you are coming for just a quick hike, give yourself about an hour. If you are looking for a stroll of exploration and discovery, it may take closer to three hours to complete.
