Carrying bags of toys and snacks is not an easy task through hot sand while wearing flip-flops and carrying small children.  The Harbor Cove Beach has come up with the perfect solution for that!

When you arrive you are greeted by a blue carpet that is rolled out from the parking lot to the shore.  I witnessed several happy people using it for strollers and wagons. I was thinking it would be great for wheelchairs as well.

This beach is tucked between two jettys keeping the waves at a distance and allowing calm waters to play in.

It is also across the street from another one of our favorite locations, the Channel Islands National Park Visitor Center.

If you are looking for a relaxing day at the beach with kiddos, I highly recommend the Harbor Cove Beach.

The Upsides:

——-parking is free!

——-you can bring your leashed dog

——-the channel islands are in view on a clear day

——-there are restrooms nearby

——-The waves are small

——-There is a great cafe across the street incase you forgot to pack a lunch (Harbor Cove Beach Cafe)

The Downsides:

——-uuumm….can’t think of any!
