The Oak Creek Canyon Whole Access Trail is one of my absolute favorite hikes with my littles. It’s beautiful, it’s flat, and it has incredible signs throughout the trail explaining the nature around you.

At the beginning of the trail, there are maps available to carry along.  My littles love have a map in hand during a hike.  They call them “adventure maps”.

There is a vault toilet at the trailhead along with a drinking fountain. There is another drinking fountain for dogs and horses to the left of the trail.

One of my favorite parts of this trail are the signs. They not only have great information but they are also in braille. These signs and the cable along the fence line allow those without sight an opportunity to enjoy more of the nature on this trail too.

The path is flat and an easy one to push a stroller. On our last visit, we did see a new little walker making her way quite nicely along the trail without her stroller.  We also saw someone maneuver their motorized scooter along the trail with no issues.

The path is only 1/4 mile to the end.  You can go longer, but when I’m with my littles, we never go beyond the last sign.  We turn just around and come back.  We also usually sit on a bench for a while and fill out our nature journal or eat a snack.

Overall, this trail is perfect for any novice hikers with kids, experienced hikers wanting to introduce their kids to hiking, or someone just looking to get the kids outside for a nature walk.
