Looking for a fun activity to do with the kiddos on the Conejo Valley Trails? Turn it into a scavenger hunt!
Visit COSF.org and print out the Plant and Animal Photos PDF . This is a photo list of plants and animals that can be found in the open space in the Conejo Valley.
Grab a sheet of stickers (any kind your kiddos prefer) and let have them put a sticker on every item they come across on the trail. If you laminate it, you can use a dry erase marker and reuse it on many hikes in the area.
My kiddos have used this on the Prickly Pear Trail in Newbury Park. You can find the Prickly Pear Trail on this downloadable map here: Dos Vietos Trail Map It’s a fantastic one mile loop in Newbury Park and perfect for families with little ones. There’s a beautiful park next to this trail so if the kids still have energy after their hike, they can enjoy some playground time or have a picnic.
